Sheila & The Shaman - S1E4 - Why Is Ayahuasca So Expensive? The Dangers Of Appropriation

Sheila learns about sacred objects, and The Sacred Hoop. The Shaman talks about her Native Lineage, decades of training, and why Ayahuasca costs what it does.

This episode of Sheila & The Shaman covers a lot of ground - including some sensitive topics. In recent months it’s become increasingly frustrating for Courtni (aka, The Shaman) to administer Ceremony and practice her religion freely. The Keyboard Warriors are out in full force trying to discredit Native lineage, and there are many spaces pouring ceremony dangerously, and illegally, while appropriating from Native Culture.

We delve into community and culture, picking up where we left off last week regarding The Sacred Hoop. We also cover legal ceremony and who does and does not have the right to pour, what happens when you take a “certificate” program to become a Shaman, and the dangers of simply being alive as a Native American.

Thank you for taking the time to listen, and please consider signal boosting this post within your community.
